This is an inheritantly bandpass filter created from an array of mutually coupled lines. the design can vary from a bunch of circular TEM lines in a box to a planar design of coupled lines on microstrip. Here we make the choice between a pure meta Rod based design and a low power microstrip approach

RODs
A series of near quarter wave parallel coupled lines (often rods or bars) arranged to construct a bandpass filter. The lines are shorted at alternative ends and capacitivly loaded at the other.
Microstrip
A series of near quarter wave parallel coupled lines on a substrate arranged to construct a bandpass filter. The lines are shorted at alternative ends and capacitivly loaded at the other.
